The memory of trees
Through the cosmic vision of a photographer, whose eye has widened to the limitless dimensions of time and space, The memory of trees and 200 million years retrace the genesis of the magnificent universe, namely the earth and its evolution. It is a vision of the physical universe, of matter, and of their evolution, from which the heavenly and earthly worlds were formed.
These two photographs tell the fascinating story of the trees’ memory, fossilized alive in lava flows, ashes, and slag of volcanic eruptions of phenomenal magnitude during the Trias and then the Cretaceous. Memories that time restores to us in the petrified form of millions of springs at the end of a long journey.
They are extraordinary mineral works of art, of unparalleled beauty, patiently shaped in the crucible of time by the secret alchemy of the earths’ substances. Fortuitous artworks, however exclusive, imprinted with new forms clothed in ores, such as day dresses veined with green chrome, woollen iron costumes made of red and yellow fibres, sometimes midnight blue of meteor iron, or even, for the night ball under the stars, black sheath dresses made of manganese, sewn by the thread of time with comets’ hair, often adorned with hearts in amber honey hues, starry agate eyes, milky opal moons, the whole covered with long fluted coats of grey titanium bark.
Under the magic lantern of the milky way, preserved in rock, eternal nature’s artworks unveil the secrets of the world’s origins and of life on earth.
